This is probably the longest Western grace has been on a dock in her life. We are now 10 days at the dock and every day we say tomorrow we should be close and something else comes up we want to do. We painted the aft decks with nonskid and did some painting on the bow and transom. The toe rail on port got repainted and we still working on the bow.

This is the best of a steel little ship is that you can fix, repair, paint, replace and upgrade virtual everything and make it look like new. Unlike a fiberglass production boat where there is a limited lifespan (at least in miles) before they fall apart a proper steel vessel can go for a  million miles.

Sure nice to have unlimited power and water and not have to worry about the boat at anchor. No genset routine and night checks seeing if all is alright. We sure are getting soft.

Today was a party of the paddle jumpers at marina la Cruz. Had a quick look but the weather was nice and cloudy ideal to do some cleaning so went back right away. Like every year a number of boats are going to French Polynesia and also to Hawaii like us. Did not hear of any going to Hilo but we will sure hear of some when time gets closer. We are set to depart mar 31.

Hopefully get out of the marina soon.

It is said that harbor's are no good. Ships rot away and the crews get soft. This is how we feel as we have been at anchor for two weeks. We keep busy matter of fact we get more ambitious by the day. We are now painting the deck and doing some touchups, varnishing, buffing, sanding, dissembling, rebuilding, cleaning, replacing etc. Tomorrow we are going in the marina as they offer a good deal and we like to clean up the hull.

There is a large fleet at anchor here around 50 boats now and even some of the big boats anchor out to save a dollar. Some of the big boat owners are getting careful as well. What a change from just a few months ago.  The large building project are still working full speed to finish the project as fast as they can. There are condo sales everywhere.

The weather has been warm and muggy. Still a lot warmer than previous years.
